33-Bead Prayer Beads
What’s in a number? 33 beads, for example … four sets of seven beads. Seven? The number of days a week. Four? The number of seasons in a church year. Four “cruciform” beads. Four seasons in the solar year. Four Gospels. A single invitatory bead above the cross, the 33rd bead, is an invitation to prayer.
Anglican Prayer Beads are a relatively new form of contemplative prayer.
