Local artist: Jean Dodd

Jean Carrison Dodd (Caldwell) is a name that has been synonymous with all that is best about the visual arts in Jacksonville. She has been a joyful and tireless leader for the arts at all levels.

An avid gardener and observer of flora and fauna, many of Jean's works reflect flowers and the natural world.

Jean is a former Curator of Education at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, former head of San Jose Episcopal Day School, a Deacon in the Episcopal Church and recipient of numerous awards, including the Cultural Council Artist Award, Florida Tomes Union Eve Award, Southern Association of Arts and Letters award, and many more. While at the Cummer Museum, Jean was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service.
