St. John's Cathedral Bookshop offers local, third-party personalization services on eligible Bibles and Books of Common Prayer (BCP). We help individuals, churches, clergy, and families select appropriate editions for baptisms, confirmations, ordinations, weddings, memorials, and other occasions.
Imprinting, sometimes also called engraving, applies the name of a person on the front cover of a book, making it unique and special. It is considered an artisanal process, one that is completed by hand, ensuring that every imprinted product is one-of-a-kind.
Please be aware that our imprinter allows for a tolerance of 1mm in every dimension of the stamp. Moreover, imprinting is done blindly (without having the same exact material to test the stamp). Therefore, results may vary, especially if original covers are not manufactured perfectly square.
Imprinting Specifications & Requirements
- PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER IMPRINTING ON OVERNIGHT ORDERS.
- We offer local, third-party personalization services of Bibles and books purchased at our store, in new condition, for a fee of $20 per line. Please contact the store by email at cathedralbookstore@jaxcathedral.org if you have a new Bible or prayer book purchased elsewhere or an heirloom Bible or prayer book, and we will let you know if we can accommodate this request. The cost for imprinting on items purchased elsewhere is $30.
- Our imprinter is only able to imprint books that are good candidates for the imprinting process, with covers that provide a good surface for the heated gold and silver leaf to successfully bond with the material. We reserve the right to refuse to imprint an heirloom Bible or prayer book if our imprinter determines the item is too fragile for the process.
- It takes 7-10 business days before imprinted books are ready to ship. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE IMPRINTING ON OVERNIGHT OR EXPRESS ORDERS.
- We offer imprinting of one line of text on each item.
- We offer three types of imprinting: AMERICANA (all caps), Script (upper and lower case), and Stymie (upper and lower case).
- The maximum character count for our personalization service is 25 characters, including punctuation and spaces.
- Imprinting orders may be placed in person or through our website or by email. Phone orders are not accepted.
- The cost for imprinting services is $20 per line of imprint for items purchased at our store. The cost for imprinting on items purchased elsewhere is $30.
